Showing Up for Yourself

Yoga is Not a Performance…with Guest Speaker Illi Stovall

In our last episode, we spoke about the 5 principles that hold students back from embodying the practice. In this blogcast, we apply our takeaways from these 5 principles as we are facing uncertain times.

Sometimes we start to entertain thoughts of self-doubt, and self-defeat. We go down the rabbit hole of self-defeat.

On the surface, what we share with the world is one thing, and how we truly are showing up for ourselves is another. We can post pictures in the most incredible places of the world, with smiles for miles, and “positive quotes” to encourage others, but are you encouraging yourself?

“Just like the unbounded ocean, the quiet ocean and somewhere in the ocean, a wave comes up. Another wave comes up, a third wave comes up… Like that, in the cosmic unmanifest value of the unified field of pure self-referral state of consciousness as waves, as different waves of DNA pop up.” -Maharishi Mahesh yogi

Instead of “playing one on IG”, How are you showing up during times of uncertainty, and are you ok with being vulnerable and showing up in the most authentic ways?

Saying, “No, I’m not ok,” and “I am going through the same **ish that you are on a different level, but with a different perspective.”

Mindset is everything.

The “performance” of “playing” the “role” and being a slave to the “identity” is part of the story and a limiting notion that is holding our very own nature back from exponential growth. How are we showing up for ourselves and why are we caring about what others think?

Introducing our guest speaker Illi Stovall, founder of Humble Wave, and one of my spiritual brothers and meditation guides. He is a local New Orleanian, lyrical and musical creator, artist, and investment intuitive. Illi truly has been touched by the divine spirit and walks in cosmic consciousness and abundance as a norm. Today Illi will share his insights on our following discussion topics:

  • uncertainty + life transitions = exponential growth when we understand how mindset shifts go from performance to practical application and physiological well-being.

  • Mental Health = wholeness (refer to the sun and glass analogy of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on perspectives)
