Manomaya Kosha, the 3rd of the 5 Koshas. This sequence is designed to encourage you to experience how we connect to the mental layer of the body. How we get in our own way and block ourselves from abundance.
Manamaya Kosha
Composed of the mind animated by thought or intelligence Vritti Thinking
The mental body is called the Manamaya Kosha, or the body made of thought processes. It is the outer mind that allows us to receive and digest sensory impressions from the outside environment. The mental body is the most connected with our eyes. When we close our eyes, we immediately begin to quiet the mental body.
The mental body takes in data, and the energy and physical bodies act as pawns of the subtler and more powerful mind and intellect.
Yoga is the stilling of these fluctuations of the mind (vrittis, here is a citti vritti sequence).
As these mental fluctuations or vrittis are stilled, our true nature is revealed. We have enough clarity to perceive the self beyond the fluctuations of the mind with which we are habitually identified. These resulting fluctuations, or internal reactions, are stilled in yoga Nidra so that we may perceive what is beyond it.
We use props such as blocks, pillows, blankets, chairs, straps, and bolsters as a way to ease the body into the opening, meeting yourself where you are on your mat today.
Modifications are typically presented throughout the class and we progress as we flow. Students are encouraged to regress and make adaptations to support their bodies safely.

* bolster
* strap
* wedge
* chair
