Embracing God Consciousness through Higher States of Consciousness Part 1 of 2

A hard topic for many to appreciate, but one that opens the gate to the essence of Being within. It is for the faint of heart and those that are full. Skill in action is the yoga of separation from bondage.

Today, we dive in deeply into this knowledge. Turning our attention inward to transform intellectual knowledge into a direct experience which is the highest form of knowledge.

Give a listen, meditate on this wisdom, and allow what resonates with you to settle and what doesn’t float onward.

I discovered the source of knowledge at a New Assembly of God church that had a powerful spirit-filled sanctuary that moved me to tears. It was there that I fell to my knees consumed with a flood of emotion that striped something away so intensely that I felt a peace that surpassed all understanding come over me and left a completely different person. I dedicated my life at that moment to becoming a devotee of God. Seeing God direct my path effortlessly and life begin its process of sorting itself out naturally led me to Yoga, which became the integration of finding God’s stillness within.

The paradigm I was taught to believe originally, is that God is in everything, but the only way to reach God was through Christ, as it says In the Bible, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 4:16 KJV). Which made it very hard to live “freely,” when I felt I was more confined to this paradigm and under a microscope which limited my depth of understanding to a merely superficial level, as I was curious about Christ and why only through him if God is everything to include us uniquely, and the “kingdom of God within” and being made in the “image of Christ,” how do I

  • Embody this “Christ-like” way of living?

  • How am I to embody God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, the trinity, if they are all one and yet I have to live according to a set of rules?

  • I understand all states of consciousness have their natural laws within each state, but how does one bind the boundless?

This paradigm shifted me when I began my journey of yoga and started to realize, in my own understanding, that to be "Christ-like,” is:

  • to be at peace within yourself

  • to love unconditionally

  • forgive, and

  • have profound acceptance in evolving into what is understood to be Unity Consciousness.

Allowing all to melt into one another in a  field of the profound union. The true knowledge of Yoga is recognizing it as more than just asana, but a way of life, and a state of connection with the True Self. To be at peace with others and oneself as a whole joining the mind-body- and heart.  To love all "Beings” as you love yourself. To "sit and be still" (Psalm 46:10 NIV) listening to God.

Prayer is the way we commune with God and meditation is our way of listening to God. During a yoga class, instructor Moses Love of I loves Yoga Studio in Florida, said, “If you can’t see God in all things, (to include our own being), then you can’t see God at all.”

The absolute, or my take on a paradigm I lean towards,  is that the Trinity dwells inside the human as the source of “Being.” What we consider our ‘soul Self’. I see this reflected in a myriad of religions from Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva in Hinduism; God, Christ, and Spirit in Christianity; and The Supernal Triad within Kabbhala’s Tree of Life of Kether (Divine Consciousness), Chokmah (the Son in relation to Kether as its Father, it is the active, male principle of existence) and Binah that embodies the primal female energies, to name a few.

I realized, that in order to live a fulfilling, free, and love-filled life, one must discover the “Christ-like" - trinity of consciousness that is the Spirit living within. It is not an external being that is based on conditions because God loves unconditionally. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi calls this way of living in the fullness of life, “God Consciousness” in his book ‘Science of Being and art of living.’ (P. xviii) The way I came to embody this paradigm is through yoga and Transcendental Meditation.

I found it challenging to support traditional science when it came to God-consciousness because as Dr.Collins states, “scientific research doesn’t really have a lot to say about God, so scientists tend to shy away from believing in God cause they don’t have any scientific evidence for it.” If scientists are known to test, test, and test some more as to reveal a conclusion that would not infuse any subjective bias, the very statement that “scientific research doesn’t really have a lot to say….so they shy away," in essence doesn’t instill much validity or confidence to their claim, and therefore does not hold much value for me, personally. It reminds me of the comment that Dr.Collins said in a light-hearted way, to paraphrase along the lines of scientific materialism, "it's quite brilliant really if it is unable to be proven then simply one may conclude it doesn’t exist.”  Dr.Collins reiterates this statement in a later video lecture on Paradigms, “Science cannot detect or measure a thought, so this is a pretty basic level in regards to consciousness.”

As I see it, if scientists can not even trust their own conclusions or make an effort to explore the depths of consciousness via other areas of investigation to study (i.e. objective or traditional), and test those findings, then it’s like trying to trust someone in a relationship when they don’t even trust themselves and project that insecurities on others to 'believe' without substance.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi offers this statement in his book Science of Being and the art of living. (2022, p.32), "Dr.Albert Einstein propounded the theory of relativity and said that everything in the universe is relative and the existence of different worlds and forms and phenomena can only be accounted for in terms of relativity. But here we have made a statement which says that the absolute, remaining absolute, expresses Itself in the relative states of creation. The Being remaining in Its never-changing, the eternal absolute character is found expressing Itself in the different forms and phenomena of the diverse creation.”
