The Light In My Shadow
Where Medical Insight Meets Yogic Wisdom on the Path to Healing
My Story: Living with BPD, Bipolar, Manic Depression, Complex Trauma & Suicidal Ideation
In this raw and vulnerable episode, I open up about my journey living with multiple mental health diagnoses—how they’ve sabotaged my relationships, fed my addiction to emotional pain, and kept me spinning on a merry-go-round of trauma and shame. I explore how these shadows became constant companions—sometimes seductive, sometimes suffocating—and how I’ve slowly, painfully, but purposefully learned to face them.
Through the healing lenses of yoga and Ayurveda, I’ve begun to untangle the web. It hasn’t been easy. It’s been messy, teary, and filled with setbacks—but also breakthroughs. If you’ve ever felt like your mind was working against you or that your pain had its own personality, this episode is for you.
“Unless we heal the wounds that shame creates, especially wounds from childhood, we carry this crippling shame into our adulthood…” This is the work. And this is my truth.

S1 Ep:6 Our Mental and Emotional State of Being through Trauma, Depression, and Suicide
Mental Health is at the forefront of importance, now more than ever before. We just never know what someone is going through behind the mask we all wear (figuratively and literally). How are we integrating a consciousness-based approach in supporting mental well-being within ourselves and for our community.
S1 Ep:5 The Past Does Not Predict Our Future
The brain has two roads that lead back to the main path, the high road which is slower to process, more methodical, looks at the big picture, and the low road, highly emotional and reactionary. Together, the low road forms the emotional response consciously with the high road when clarity is presented. In this episode we recall the moments of "being here before" and recognizing the neurons that are shifting us into more awareness.
S1 Ep:4 Finding the Right Yoga Teacher
Yoga is a journey, not a destination. It takes time to find the right teacher, lineage, class, and environment that will support your progression and evolution into the world of energetic healing. Not everyone resonates with everyone, so it is important to connect with the teacher or teachers that will come along side you to nurture this newfound expansion. Be prepared to get out of your comfort zone in order to discover your true self.
S1 Ep:3 Showing Up for Yourself with Guest Speaker Illi Stovall
Illi Stovall shares his words of insight and wisdom on how yoga and meditation transformed his life and how he hopes to see this inspiration and fire ignite within others. Illi shares his personal story along with his trials and triumphs as he uses the teaching and principles of yoga and meditation to nurture the wholeness within the Self, taking one into higher states of consciousness.
